Emmanuel
graduated from the
Medical School of the College of Medicine of the University of Ibadan in June 1979 as the best graduate
in a class of 188 winning among others:
Sir Manuwa Gold Medal, Nigerian Medical
Association Award for best graduate and
the Dean's Prize.
Emmanuel
immigrated to the
United States after
spending four years working in various
hospitals in England. He did a three year
residency in Family Medicine at the
Jamaica Hospital, Jamaica, New York. Emmanuel
established the Alpha-K Family Medical
Practice P.C. on July 1, 1996, and the
practice now has over twenty medical and
allied personnel employees in Queens and
Brooklyn Counties in New York City.
Emmanuel
later enrolled as a student at the
School of
Law of St. John's
University, Jamaica, New York. Emmanuel placed first in his class
in every semester while in the law
school and after the first year, was
awarded the Dean's Scholarship, a sum of
$10,000 applied to tuition, as the best
student in the evening section.
Emmanuel won
the Dean's Scholarship every year
thereafter, for a total of three years.
He came first in
eleven of the courses enrolled for in the
law school, and was awarded a certificate by
the Centre for Computer-Assisted Legal
Instruction (CALI) as the best student
in the each of the subjects (Torts I,
Contracts II, Torts II, Property II,
Constitutional Law I, Criminal Law,
Business Organizations, Criminal Trial
Advocacy, Appellate Advocacy, Trusts and
Estates, and Family Law).
